This Month
Africa is the second largest continent in the world! More than 2000 different languages are spoken among the 54 different countries which call Africa home.
When I visited Africa recently, I went on a safari in the beautiful country of Kenya. I had a fascinating experience while watching lions stalking an African antelope.
This reminded me of a Bible verse in 1 Peter 5:8. “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” Just like the lions I saw prowling about, hoping to catch an unfortunate victim, the devil is constantly looking for people to lead away from Jesus.
In Matthew 26:41, Jesus said, “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.”
Jesus says that we should be watchful, just like the African antelope I observed. We want to stay in the safety of the love and the will of Jesus, carefully listening to what he says when he speaks to us through the Bible and as He comes close to us when we pray.
